Here’s the thing about an outfit formula. It works every time. Enter Bella Hadid and her bootcut-jeans-with-a-heeled-boot look—which never fails to impress, no matter how many times we see it.
The supermodel was spotted arriving at Milk Studios in Los Angeles on January 6 wearing the definitive model-off-duty ensemble: her black jeans paired with chunky-heeled ankle boots and a turtleneck bodysuit, with a belt to break up the two pieces a little bit. For contrast, Hadid added a vintage brown leather blazer and a pair of chunky gold earrings.
We’re also enjoying the skinny black headband over lightly teased hair, which lends the look an additional vintage touch. Her hair was similarly styled less than a week previously, when she was spotted in Aspen, Colorado (also wearing bootcut jeans with a boot, mind you). The rose, of course, is timeless.
Bootcut jeans, along with cigarette jeans, and, yes, skinny jeans are all having a trending moment right now as the world slowly weans itself off of the baggy styles that have dominated wardrobes for years. Dakota Johnson has been a devotee of the cigarette silhouette for as long as she’s been photographed in public, while skinny pants started popping up on runways in spring 2025.
As for bootcuts, we’ve recently seen them expertly styled with everything from pumps to loafers to espadrilles. In October 2025, Jennifer Lawrence, often a baggy-jean queen, was photographed styling bootcut jeans with her beloved flats while out in New York City.
But there’s a reason they're called “bootcut” jeans, not espadrille-cut jeans, and Hadid knows what it is. In fact, she’s been wearing bootcut jeans—slim-fit mid-rise bootcut jeans, specifically—with boots since at least 2023, when she was out channelling vintage Cindy Crawford. We’ve also seen her merge her two signature styles—old-school supermodel and cowgirl—by pairing bootcuts with cowboy boots.
