While Amazon is a great place to stock up on the boring stuff, it’s also a great place to find so many fashion trends; that’s the side of the site where I spend my time. And with Amazon Prime Day here—it’s officially called Prime Big Deal Days and runs through October 8 this year—there are so many more incredible style deals than usual. (Take it from me, a style shopping editor who constantly scrolls the site for interesting, trendy pieces.)
On any given day, Amazon is a place to dip your toes into the season’s hottest pieces without spending too much. But on Prime Day, it’s open season on everything you’ve been wanting to try, from capsule-wardrobe staples (blazers, jeans) to fall’s most coveted newcomers (suede boots, stand-collar jackets). Shop my favorite on-sale Amazon fashion finds, from brown suede bags to rugby shirts, below—and don’t wait too long, since the deals dry up at midnight.
Glamour’s Amazon trends on sale wish list
1. Brown suede
One of the biggest color trends of the season, chocolate brown is welcome in all its forms—but it’s at its absolute best in suede. Absolutely everyone is carrying dark suede bags right now, while brown boots, jackets, and separates are also on the rise. (Just ask Kate Middleton.) Any of these pieces will help elevate all your fall outfits, and you can also pair them together for bonus points as the weather continues to cool.
2. Academic prep
It’s never been cooler to dress like a college student. Hallmarks of the Ivy League—rugby shirts, polo collars, pleated skirts, easy button-downs—are everywhere right now, especially on the crowds at Fashion Week. This mode of preppy style also draws on sports as much as it does academics, so feel free to introduce some more athletic pieces (say, track pants) into the mix. Trust me: You’ll look like a fashion editor.
3. Countryside plaid
Brands like Kallmeyer, Ralph Lauren, and Burberry made us rethink plaid on their fall-winter runways. Rendered in an earthy, subdued palette, the heritage pattern has gotten a lot cooler for fall—and it’s already up for grabs at deep discounts for Prime Day. Try layering a patterned cardigan over a minidress or letting your fall jacket’s plaid lining show; none of these of-the-moment picks will set you back more than $39 right now.
4. Stand collars
Of the season’s biggest jacket trends, the stand-collar layer is enjoying a major moment in every city I’ve visited this season. The silhouette du jour is defined by a funnel neck and a cropped fit, lending your ensembles an edgy, athletic energy. If you’re in the market—and trust me, you should be—Amazon should be your first stop; these chic sweatshirts and jackets are as much as 25% off, although they certainly look expensive.
5. Rich burgundy
While chocolate brown might be getting marginally more love right now, its sister, burgundy, is on the up and up this October. With fall-winter runway appearances at Altuzarra, Balmain, Max Mara, and Chanel (plus a big cosign from Mindy Kaling), the elegant shade is an excellent investment for the months ahead. And these picks, from outdoorsy fleeces to polished knee-high boots, are currently on sale for as little as $13. Go, go, go!
6. Retro argyle
Heritage patterns are clearly having a big moment among autumn’s fashion trends, and argyle is the most playful of them all. So many showgoers opted for the geeky-chic print during Fashion Month, and every brand from Zara to Miu Miu currently offers its own take. I’ve been influenced—and thankfully for the both of us, these gems are as much as 30% off through tonight.
7. Crossbody flap bags
What’s old is new again. Crossbodies with flaps, one of the most staid and practical silhouettes on the market, popped up over and over again on the fall runways, including at Khaite, Burberry, and Calvin Klein. The takeaway? This city-friendly pick is at the precipice of a grand revival, and you have the chance to buy in at a discount. On the high end, Meghan Markle–approved DeMellier and editor-loved Wandler can be yours for a rare 25% off—but you can snag the look starting at just $29.
