And by “heard through the grapevine,” we mean to say that Johnson has been spotted out with “Sally, When the Wine Runs Out” singer Role Model on multiple occasions since December, fueling newfound relationship rumors.
This alleged romance comes about seven months after Johnson's summer split from Coldplay frontman Chris Martin after eight years in an on-and-off relationship. Johnson once told Vanity Fair that the longtime couple “never really left each other” after meeting through a friend in 2017, though their relationship timeline is riddled with brief separations and breakup rumors.
“For a long time we’ve all been so quick to judge relationships or how they should happen, how they should exist in the world,” Johnson said in an Los Angeles Times interview that was published the same day People reported their split in June. “When people should get married. Divorce is bad. All these things that actually, if you think about it, why is divorce bad? Why do people have to get married or at a certain age or only once? Why? It doesn’t matter.”
At the time, a source told People that Johnson and Martin's split “feels final this time,” though fans were skeptical. Now, it seems the 36-year-old Materialists star is ready to move on, based on a recent series of outings with 28-year-old s Tucker Pillsbury, who goes by the pseudonym Role Model.

While a source told The Daily Mail that the couple “accepted the relationship is over” and “it’s best to move on,” Johnson’s rep denied the split to Page Six as well. “The reports are not true,” the rep said. “They are happily together.”
