If you’re reading this, you probably want to know: Will there be an Emily in Paris season 6? And if so, how much longer will we have to wait for it?
For some of us, binge-watching Emily in Paris each December has become a holiday tradition, up there with decorating the tree and avoiding family members’ invasive questions. (Well, season 4 technically premiered in August and September, but most seasons have had a late December release.) If that’s you, and you’ve already made your way through all 10 episodes of season 5 of the Netflix rom-com series, which dropped on December 18, keep reading for everything we know about season 6, which was officially renewed on Monday, January 5, 2026, with this delicious—yes, delicious—video.

It was only a matter of time before we got the good news. Season 5 has amassed 26.8 million views globally on Netflix in just 11 days, debuting at number two in their Global Top 10 English TV list. This season reached the top 10 in 91 countries, and it reached number one in 24 (including France, Italy, Brazil, and Germany).
So what else do we know about season 6? When we spoke with Darren Star ahead of the premiere of season 5, he gave us quite a bit of intel, so read on for what we know—and what we don’t—and we’ll continue to keep you posted as new information becomes available.
What has creator Darren Star said about a sixth season?
When Glamour asked show creator Darren Star whether he’d already begun brainstorming ideas for season 6, he said, “I don’t really like to brainstorm until I get the real green light.” However, he added that the Emily in Paris characters “live in my head, so I can’t help thinking about them.”
What would the plot of season 6 cover?
Strap in, because there are a lot of loose ends Emily in Paris writers need to tie up.
**Spoilers ahead!** When we left Emily (Lily Collins) at the end of season 5, she was newly single and bracing for a regime change at Agence Grateau. After Sylvie’s (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu’s) now ex-husband, Laurent (Arnaud Binard), bankrupted her business, Princess Jane (Minnie Driver) stepped in to bail out the PR firm—with the caveat that she would be the co-CEO, much to Sylvie’s chagrin.
Though Emily chose Paris over a life in Solitano with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini), there is still a chance we might see her go abroad, even just for a few weeks. In the final episode of season 5, we see Chef Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) send a postcard to Paris, inviting Emily to spend a few weeks with him in Greece while the yacht he’s working on as a private chef is docked. Could a Grecian vacation be the chance for these two to finally get together—without all the drama of an ex-girlfriend or a fake pregnancy?
Meanwhile, Mindy (Ashley Park) has a major decision to make: Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) or Nicolas (Paul Forman)? Emily’s favorite on-call performer for Agence Grateau–sponsored PR events (and roommate) technically got engaged to her ex-flame Nicolas while the pair were in Venice for Marcello’s debut fashion show. But Alfie really threw a wrench in her happily-ever-after when he called Mindy to tell her he really had feelings for her after all. What happens in Rome…definitely did not stay in Rome!
In the press release announcing season 6, Netflix used the tagline: “Paris is always a good idea.” That doesn’t mean the show won’t go to Greece next season, but definitely expect it to be anchored more in Paris.
Who’s returning for Emily in Paris season 6?
Again, nothing has been confirmed. However, we have some ideas.
Since Emily (Collins) has returned to her job at Agence Grateau, we can assume her coworkers—Sylvie (Leroy-Beaulieu), Luc (Bruno Gouery), Julien (Samuel Arnold), and Princess Jane (Driver)—would return for season 6. Now that Emily and Mindy are back on good terms, it’s probably safe to assume that Ashley Park is also on board for another season of Emily in Paris, in addition to Mindy’s love interests, Alfie (Laviscount) and Nicolas (Forman).
As for Chef Gabriel’s (Bravo’s) fate—that’s still up in the air. Bravo has seemed lukewarm about his character for the past few seasons, and he made just a handful of appearances in season 5.
He is singing a much different tune about Emily in Paris season five.

And then there is Bryan Greenberg, who played Jake, an employee at the American embassy in Paris, in just one episode. Will he return in a greater capacity for season 6? Will Emily become a recurring Team Marcel member at Friends trivia? Here’s what Star told us about a potential return for Greenberg.
Given their breakups, I’d guess that neither Marcello (Franceschini) nor Laurent (Binard) will return for a potential sixth season. But never say never! Now that Nicolas and Marcello are besties, it wouldn’t be too far-fetched for Marcello to make a cameo.
Who’s joining the cast?
Calm down! It hasn’t even started filming yet. We’ll let you know when we know.
When would Emily in Paris season 6 premiere?
Netflix has been churning out new seasons of Emily in Paris pretty consistently since the show debuted in 2020. If the past is any indication, we could expect a sixth season sometime between September and December 2026. But don’t quote us on that just yet.
This post will be updated.
