For nearly every single hair appointment I've had since college, I've brought in a photo of Georgia May Jagger, hoping that, by copying her bangs, a little bit of her cool factor would rub off on me (turns out being the daughter of two icons probably helps in that department). I mean, there's no denying the model has fabulous hair.
It makes sense then that she's one of the three women behind Bleach London, one of the world's coolest hair salons, known for its rainbow-bright dye jobs and edgy cuts. Jagger met her now business partner, hairstylist Alex Brownsell, on one of her very first modeling jobs, and after they became close friends, Brownsell brought her on as a business partner. This month, after 10 years and with three locations in London, the salon is finally opening its first U.S. location, in Los Angeles, and its line of products will be available stateside.
“We're traditionally known as an English brand, but I think we're gonna really fit in with Hollywood, and we really wanted to offer our style here,” Jagger tells Glamour. “We're known for doing any kind of bleaching, and we have our supercool color line, with everything under the sun that you could imagine.”
Jagger is no stranger to fun hair colors—she's been everything from baby blue to fire engine red—making her the perfect candidate for a round of Glamour's Big Beauty Questions. Read on for her hair-care secrets, musical obsessions, and the women who inspire her.

Glamour: What’s your favorite hair color you’ve ever done?
Georgia May Jagger: Well, I really like to change it up. But I always go back to The Big Pink, which is our bright pink. Alex did this amazing hot pink to me for the British Fashion Awards, and I wore this Mulberry suit, which was a different shade of bright pink, so it was all very Pepto Bismol. It was kind of like that maximalist color. But I love experimenting. She's also done a rainbow dip-dye on me with all of our colors, and I loved that too. It kind of just depends on the season or my mood, and I try and do a couple of the semipermanent colors a year. So it kind of changes, but I always go back to the magenta.
What color are you eyeing next?
I'm gonna go for red. We've got I Saw Red; it's like our darkest red, so I think I'm going to go for that. But also we have Just Like Honey, which is kind of like a lighter yellow, which I really want to experiment with, and then Bruised Violet, which is a darker purple [and] which I haven't tried, so those are all on my list.

What’s a beauty trend you’re obsessed with right now?
So many! I love learning all kinds of lymphatic drainage massages. I love anything that's like at-home facial stuff. I love looking at makeup tricks on Instagram and learning new ways to do things. Like, I'm always trying to do a cut crease on myself, but It's really hard to do. But if I could get something down, I would want to do that.
What’s a beauty rule you swear by?
A beauty rule that I swear by is just experimenting, like I do with hair color. I love going through different stages trying different eye shadows and things. I always have a more classic look that I go to, but I love experimenting—like, for a while I had bleached brows, and I bought a lot of different colored eye shadows. I just love having fun with it! I love any kind of rainbow colors and I'm really into makeup in that way. I think through working with different makeup artists in fashion over the years, anything we try on a shoot, I like to see if I can do it at home. Obviously I'm not as good, but I like to experiment with any kind of glitters or cool colors.
And what about a beauty rule you think is B.S.?
I just think following any rules too strongly is B.S. I know a lot of people say you can't do a lip and an eye at the same time, but I like doing that. So you know, it's really just how you feel. So I always just say don't go with too many rules or follow what other people tell you to do.

Fill in the blank. I love my hair….
I love my hair when I get a fresh new cut. I love experimenting with a long fringe or a bit of a mullet. I used to not be very experimental with my haircuts, but since being at Bleach and working with Alex, now I love that feeling when you just have a new fresh cut. It's kind of like a release.
Pre-pandemic, you traveled all the time. What city or country gives you the greatest beauty inspiration?
It has to be Tokyo [for] experimentation there and New York as well. I just seeing people's looks on the street in Manhattan and in Tokyo, and seeing how people really embrace different styles. I love it when people really mix it up with makeup and funky hair.
You can use only three beauty products for the rest of your life. What are they and why?
For skin care I love Isun's products, so any of their moisturizers. I would have to say a great mascara—Pat McGrath or Charlotte Tilbury. I like anything that's more kind of chunky. And then our Hair Elixir; I use it every day on wet or dry hair and it's really great, especially when I'm in L.A., if you've got flyaways and frizz. And I don't even blow-dry it; I just kind of like twizzle my hair, and that's my go-to quick look.
What’s the best beauty advice you ever got from your mom?
She's very into high glamour. And even more than me, she just really embraces change. So I think it would be not to be afraid. She just did a semipermanent red on her hair—she just goes for what she feels in the moment; it's not about being boxed in. So yeah, just learning to embrace change. A lot of people worry about their age as far as their hair length or the kind of makeup they wear, and I always think you should just go with it and not worry about what society says. Fortunately, we're seeing a lot of younger people that want to have gray hair, and older people that want to do funky colors. I think as women we're told you have to act a certain way during a certain age, and I think that's going out of fashion now.
What’s your favorite way to take a moment for yourself?
I like to walk my dog and listen to music. I guess I'm kind of boring, but I like anything in nature, or having a nice bath, something relaxing like that.
What music are you into right now?
Well, I've just been listening to the new Wolf Alice album. They just did a collab with a color for us, so I've been listening to that. But I always go back to old-school R&B.

If you could change one thing about beauty perceptions, either on social media or in Hollywood, what would you want to change?
I think it it's already changing slowly, but body positivity and embracing different looks and, like, natural figures, whatever it is. I just want to see everyone supporting each other and not tearing each other down, and I think that's changing a lot in the fashion industry, and it's really nice to see.
Who are the women who are inspiring you the most right now?
Well, I'm biased, but I would say my business partner, Alex. She's flown all the way here from London, and she's pregnant, and we're launching the business. I think that she's a superhero. And I mean, I'm cheesy, I always say my sisters and the women in my family. I feel like everyone's really supportive to each other. We're this big group of women, so I love being around all of them. They're all completely different, but we all really get along.
