Once a horse girl, always a horse girl. “There’s something so energetically majestic about horses,” Kendall Jenner told Vogue in 2024. “It’s hard to put words to in a way, it’s just something you gotta feel.” A lifelong equestrian, the model has for the most part kept her horsiness (here she is jumping over a…whatever you call it that a horse jumps over!) separate from her stylishness. Unlike, say, pal Bella Hadid, who pops up at a rodeo wearing a genuine cowboy hat now and then, KenJen seems to be a city girl.
But on occasion the stable will sneak into the closet, as it did when Jenner stepped out in stirrup pants during a recent outing in West Hollywood. She was spotted leaving a holiday party in black stirrup pants and a smart fur-lined blue jacket accessorized with a brown handbag, thin leather-strap watch, and blood red nails. Her pointed-toe kitten heels add to the Ladies of the Eighties workwear vibe of the outfit.
The silhouette has become something of a go-to for Jenner, who was photographed wearing a similar (if not the same) pair of kitten heel mules with stirrup leggings back in 2024.
You know what makes this a truly genius style hack? Kendall Jenner found a socially acceptable way to wear leggings to the club again. Now, true, stirrup pants are thicker and better tailored than your average Lululemons, but if you snipped off those loops, be real: They would be leggings. The comfiest thing to wear on a night out, but not exactly appropriate for most venues. Yet the simple addition of a strap indicated that we’re dealing with a horse girl just returned from her country home where she’s been tending to her stable of Arabians, and suddenly of course it’s okay. In fact, it’s chic. Whether she wants to dance all night or fall asleep in the back of the Escalade, Jenner can do so, and she’s not wearing leggings, no. She’s just preppy like that.
