We can now confirm that Kaley Cuoco has at least one thing in common with Taylor Swift. The Aupen Nirvana bag.
While promoting her new miniseries Vanished in New York City on February 3, the actor was spotted flashing a peace sign for photographers and carrying a very familiar handbag on the other arm. The rest of Cuoco's laid-back ensemble included relaxed jeans, an oversized gray blazer, black loafers, and a chocolate brown overcoat that she carried over her arm. (It seems safe to assume that Cuoco was not traveling far, given New York’s current below-freezing temps).
Now Cuoco has joined the many, many, many celebs who have been spotted with Aupen bags lately, including Selena Gomez, Hailey Bieber, and Kylie Jenner. The particular style Cuoco is carrying, the Nirvana, has been beloved by Swift since at least 2023. Swift carried the trendy (and shockingly affordable) purse on one of her early dates with Travis Kelce.
Swift’s version had a braided handle, while Cuoco’s features a buckled handle. It appears Cuoco’s version is no longer in production (though you can still find it on resale sites), but the braided style is still available on Aupen’s website for $420.
The hobo bag has been popular with several brands over the past few seasons. Key elements include the single strap and a slouchy, almost rounded shape at the opening. While the asymmetrical shape of the Nirvana bag is Aupen’s signature, we’re a sucker for symmetry, too, seen in the Kate Spade and JW Pei bags below.
And while a little black bag does go with anything, as both Kaley Cuoco and Taylor Swift proved with their looks, a gray coat pairs particularly well. You might say, all too well.
