Both Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle love to recycle pieces in their wardrobes. Of course, Middleton has been in the family longer, so she has a much larger royal archive to pick from. It's frankly one of the most relatable things about the Duchess of Cambridge. (Who among us doesn't have a favorite dress or pair of boots that we wear constantly?) Of course, most of us aren't having our photographs blasted out around the world, but still….
Last night the Duchess of Cambridge brought back one of our all-time favorite looks, a striped off-the-shoulder dress from London-based Brazilian designer Barbara Casasola, to attend an event in support of her patronages, Action on Addiction.
"Action on Addiction was one of my very first patronages, and as such, it is very close to my heart," she said in a speech. "I’m hugely passionate about the support it provides, especially for parents, children, and families who suffer from, or through, addiction. And in some ways, it was the catalyst for my interest in early-childhood development too…. What’s remarkable about Action on Addiction is that it goes beyond helping those who are suffering on the courageous journey into recovery—it also lends direct support to the children and families affected by addiction, for as long as it takes."
The duchess paired the long-sleeve dress with metallic accessories, including a clutch by Wilbur & Gussie clutch.
She polished the look off with sparkly Jimmy Choo heels, per What Kate Wore.
Of course, she also had her signature bouncy blowout on full display. We first saw this Casasola dress publicly in 2016, when Middleton wore it to the Art Fund Museum of the Year gala. And honestly, it looks just as good in 2019.
Since it's an old style, you can't buy Middleton's exact dress anymore. (Though Casasola does have similar knit silhouettes available for purchase.) We found some similar options that will look equally fabulous this summer, for everything from rehearsal dinners to a night out with the girls. Check them out below—and start channeling your inner K. Midd.
