You’ve definitely seen a pattern like the one on Kendall Jenner’s jacket before—probably on your grandma’s drapes, or perhaps an old couch in the basement. But who knew grandma style had the capacity to look this chic? Kendall Jenner, that’s who. Yep, granny print is about to be everywhere this spring.
The 30-year-old model was photographed grabbing sushi with her sister Kylie Jenner in West Hollywood on February 10. For the outing, Jenner selected this dark velvet jacket with a moody pattern of dark pink and violet roses, and trimmed in fur. It looks like a vintage L’est Rose faux-fur duffle jacket.
With such a statement on top, Jenner kept the rest of the look relatively subdued. She added straight-leg jeans and black ballet flats, along with simple black sunglasses. Didn’t your grandma always tell you less is more?
Jenner’s duffle jacket is a bit of a riff on the Penny Lane coat, which began trending again back in 2024. So named for Kate Hudson’s character in Almost Famous, the Penny Lane coat often has light or dark brown suede fabric, but its most defining characteristic is the fur (faux, hopefully) around the collar, cuffs, and hem. But while the Penny Lane tends to be longer, usually falling to at least the knee and often mid-calf, Jenner’s jacket crops at the waist.
But the really trending element to Jenner’s jacket isn’t the fur; it’s the print. Granny prints—oversized florals in dark or even downright ugly colors—have been popping up everywhere. Suki Waterhouse demonstrated one way to wear this trend at the premiere of Die My Love in November, with her corset dress from Zoe Gustavia Anna Whalen’s spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection.
Other grandmother-inspired trends for 2026 include granny blouses, pointelle knits, and even granny jeans (yes, granny jeans).
Now, if this isn’t an excuse to call your grandma right now, we don’t know what is.
