While nail experts and some celebs have declared 2026 the year of the maximalist mani, Lindsay Lohan just reminded us of a neutral nail trend that’s worth keeping around. The 39-year-old actor just shared her latest soap nails, and they’re the perfect way to start the year on a fresh note.
Lohan—along with a slew of other celebrities, including Dakota Johnson, Selena Gomez, and Scarlett Johansson—led the charge on the soap-nail trend last year. The look involves a rosy, semi-sheer pink base and an ultra-glossy topcoat. When paired with well-moisturized cuticles and tidy filing, the final look is so clean and shiny, it reminds you of a wet bar of soap.
Lohan made soap nails her signature look while promoting Freakier Friday—a far cry from her edgy character’s original chipped black nail polish. She’s previously combined the soap trend with another 2026 nail obsession, the magnetic current cat-eye effect, for a sparkling rosé manicure. But this week, we’re going back to basics. Lohan’s latest manicure check (via Instagram stories) confirms that the “your nails but better” trend isn’t going out of style any time soon.
While soap nails work on any length, Lohan typically opts for mid-length almond shaped nails, as seen in her most recent set. She revealed that she relies on shades from Aprés Nails for her sudsy manicures. Based on the post’s background (an adorable toy piano with kid-friendly sheet music), it looks like she’s enjoying a slow start to the year with her two-year-old son, Luai.
While there’s plenty of wild nail inspo waiting for you in 2026, we totally get wanting to start the year with a manicure palette cleanse. Let Lindsay Lohan’s latest be your excuse: Book yourself a rosy-fresh manicure for all your resolution chasing.
