Lingerie is moving out of the bedroom and into everyday styling. On recent runways like Chloé, Versace, and Stella McCartney, the biggest lingerie trends are centering on visibility—bras, bodysuits, and underwear mixed into outfits and meant to be seen, rather than tucked away or saved for special occasions. The line between lingerie and day-to-night dressing continues to blur, leaving room for personal style that runs the gamut from softer, comfort-minded silhouettes to ’90s-inspired looks embracing skin, curves, and color.
And according to our trend analysis and the lingerie experts we spoke to, these ideas aren’t just passing fads—they’re shaping how people will keep getting dressed through the coming year. Here’s a guide to the biggest lingerie trends we expect to see grow even more in 2026.
Glamour’s 2026 lingerie trends edit
1. Lingerie as clothing
One of the most significant fashion trends we’re seeing right now is underwear as outerwear. “Many designers made lingerie the main interest in looks on the 2026 runways,” says Sapna Palep, MD, MBA, co-CEO of intimates brand Journelle. “It’s such an easy way to incorporate a bit of fun into your daily look.” Try out lace bodysuits, triangle bralettes, camisoles, and corsets showing through sheer tops, layered under blazers, or worn all on their own.
2. Minimal & maximal bras
There’s a striking contrast in bra styles right now, driven by shifting expectations around how lingerie should feel and function. “On one side, I see completely unlined, very natural, almost no-bra looks,” says Jennifer Zuccarini, founder of luxury lingerie brand Fleur du Mal. “On the other, there’s a real demand for padded and push-up bras. Women want the option to go barely-there one day and full bombshell the next.” Comfort—and spending more time in relaxed settings in loungewear—has fueled this rise of softer, unstructured lingerie styles, while a nostalgic return to early-aughts glamour is bringing push-up bras back into the mix. Lingerie brands like Skims, Fleur du Mal, and Victoria’s Secret reflect that range in their collections, offering delicate, fluttery bralettes alongside plunging and balconette bras.
3. Bold colors & prints
Echoes of early-aughts colors and prints are everywhere in lingerie, with a resurgence in animal prints, neons, and color-clashing. (See: pretty much anything from Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty line.) Leopard, cheetah, and even zebra recall an era shaped by the flashiness of Christina Aguilera and Paris Hilton. Zuccarini says this intentional va-va-voom—especially under see-through dresses or tops—can change how an outfit reads: “The bra becomes as considered as the other elements in the look.”
4. ’90s slip dresses
If the Glamour office is any barometer, the slip dress has a grip on our collective closets right now. Popularized in the ’90s by It girls like Kate Moss—and worn today by fashion icons like Zendaya and Dakota Johnson—a slip feels like lingerie, yet it’s versatile enough to wear every day. Paired with a leather jacket, a cozy cardigan, or even denim, slips work beautifully for everything from work to holiday parties to dinner dates. Depending on the length, fit, and accents like lace detailing, the effect can skew sweet or sexy.
5. Babydoll silhouettes
“Babydoll silhouettes are coming back in a big way—chiffon, ruffles, pieces that traditionally lived in the bedroom,” Zuccarini says. Similar to the coquette aesthetic, the babydoll silhouette leans romantic and retro, with an undercurrent that turns flirtatious once it’s shortened or cut to show a bit of skin. (Just ask Sabrina Carpenter.) While these pieces can be worn on their own or as part of a set, a more modern approach is to ground them with structured elements like tailored denim or loafers—an approach that Zuccarini describes as “soft and sharp; sweet and strong.”
6. Exposed thongs
Another highly visible piece of lingerie to make its way back into sartorial relevance? The exposed straps of a thong worn high on the hips above a low-rise waistband, à la Britney Spears at the 2000 VMAs. “It’s a very intentional styling choice, a little nostalgic, but done in a more elevated, polished way,” Zuccarini says. In practice, the trend reads more referential than literal—we’ve spotted the look on Hailey Bieber and Kendall Jenner—but you don’t have to recreate the exact look to nod to the throwback. There are plenty of high-cut, cheeky thongs and G-strings to choose from that are cute enough to show off (or leave tucked in).
