Maude Apatow has grown up on film sets, even appearing alongside her mom, Leslie Mann, in Knocked Up at age 11 (which her dad, Judd Apatow, wrote and directed). But lately, the 22-year-old is finding herself even more at home in front of the camera than usual as the go-to actor for making all of the buzziest films and TV shows, well, even buzzier.
After a role in the 2018 edgy teen drama Assassination Nation, Apatow was cast in HBO’s glitter-laced Euphoria as Lexi, the levelheaded childhood bestie of Zendaya’s Rue. This year she took on Veronica Lake–inspired curls as Henrietta in Ryan Murphy's Hollywood, the 1940s drama that debuted this May on Netflix. Most recently, she stars in The King of Staten Island, available on demand now, in which she plays Pete Davidson’s sister in the dramedy loosely based on his life. The film was directed by her father, who cowrote it with Davidson.
“This sounds so cringey, but my dad knows my true potential and capabilities as an actor better than anyone else," Apatow told Glamour last month while quarantined at home in Los Angeles. “He’s taught me pretty much everything I know. I definitely put more pressure on myself, because it’s so important for me to do a good job for my dad."
Now Apatow has found herself on a summer break of sorts—the filming of season two of Euphoria was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. “We were all set and ready to go. We had our table reads and camera tests, and then everything happened,” she says. Though it's still unclear when season two will go into production, Apatow is looking forward to being back. Of course, she’s tight-lipped when pressed on what fans can expect from the series. “I’ve read the first six episodes," she shares. "This season is going to be really good.”
So until Apatow’s back on set, she’s filling her time by reading, running, and dreaming about puppies. Read on for more of your Fave's Faves here.
I’ve been cooking for my family during quarantine and have found that I like doing it a lot more than I thought. I love to make spaghetti with tomato sauce. It’s simple, but it’s my favorite food. I like to try different sauce recipes, and I’ve been going through the New York Times Cooking app to find them. I’ve been baking peanut butter cookies a lot too.

My favorite account is Bichon_Tori, a Korean Bichon that literally looks like a cotton ball. I’ve never seen anything like it. And there’s an account of a Japanese family with three giant poodles and two really cute kids. I love looking at dogs on Instagram.
I’m in the middle of reading Erin Lee Carr’s memoir, All That You Leave Behind, and I’m really loving it. It’s so, so good.
I don’t know if I have a favorite trend from the early 2000s, but I think the funniest one was wearing a dress with jeans underneath. I have some pictures as a kid wearing that. That was...an interesting look.
90 Day Fiancé. And I’ve been watching the isolation spin-off, 90 Day Fiancé: Self Quarantined. There are endless episodes, and they’re very enjoyable.
“Forever in Blue Jeans” by Neil Diamond always makes me happy.
Lou & Grey’s Signaturesoft Sweatpants are the softest and most comfortable pants. I have them in navy and black and have been wearing them pretty much every single day of quarantine. They’re probably my favorite item of clothing right now.
I bought Normal People on Amazon. Everyone’s been talking about how good the show is, but I want to read the book first. I’ve been nervous to start it because I hear it’s sad, but I’m excited.
I have been taking baths with CBD bath salts from Lord Jones, and they make me feel totally relaxed. I love those. I also love the M-61 quick peel pads. I use those every few days, and my skin has really improved.
My mom turned me onto Skyn Iceland’s undereye patches. They’re so good for depuffing and calming. I put them in the fridge and will wear them on my way to work. When it’s really early in the morning, they’re the only eye patches that I use where I can see the difference.
I probably wear black the most, but I’m always buying things that are pink or purple. [Laughs.]

When I’m at the movie theater, I like Reese’s Pieces or Sour Patch Watermelons. But if I’m watching a movie at home, I’ll eat rice crackers or wasabi peas. I love spicy cracker type snacks.
I really like Levi’s wedgies and rib cage jeans. The wedgies are semi-high-waist and very flattering, and the rib cages are so high-waist, they go to your ribs. I get the ones that have some stretch in them, and they are really flattering and comfortable. Oh my God, I haven’t worn jeans in so long….
I love running, and I use the Nike Running Club app for their guided runs with Coach Blue. They have mindful guided runs about being grateful, and I find them very meditative. I’ve been listening to the new Dua Lipa album when I run, and Lady Gaga and BTS have some crazy fast-paced songs that are great for running too.
