It’s no secret that actors often play up their chemistry to sell their movie. But sometimes that onscreen spark will catch fire. Cue Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson, who met while filming The Naked Gun in 2024 and then started dating IRL.
Both Neeson, 73, and Anderson, 58, have spent most of their lives in the spotlight, with their highest highs and lowest lows splashed across tabloids. So it comes as no surprise that the rollout of their relationship was slow—some might even say hesitant. Of course, that didn’t stop rumors that they manufactured the relationship for publicity from swirling as well.
One thing we know for certain is that these two are cute as hell. Keep reading for Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson’s complete relationship timeline, with the most recent updates at the top.
December 9, 2025: In an interview with People, Anderson opens up about the touch-and-go start to the relationship, which she hints has now transformed into, disappointingly (to us, at least, if not to her) a friendship.
“If you must know, Liam and I were romantically involved for a short while but only after we finished filming,” she tells the magazine, revealing they spent an “intimate week”at his home together, where she had her “own room” and adding, “Our assistants both came; even family stopped by.” During this “romantic lost week,” Neeson chased a bear away in his bathrobe and took Anderson to “dinner at a tiny French restaurant where he introduced me as the ‘future Mrs. Neeson,’” she continued.
“I tended to a rosebush overgrown with mint … I was happy to help, and he appreciated,” she reminisced, adding that they then “went our separate ways to work on other films.” When it came time to promote the movie, they found themselves falling right back into their happy flirtation. “We were having fun…a little bit like a Nancy Meyers film,” she said of the press tour, recalling, “I always was laughing when people thought, ‘Oh, that’s a publicity stunt.’ I’m like, ‘A publicity stunt? This is real. We have real feelings.’”
“I adore Liam, but we are better friends, in full honesty,” she said. “I’m sure we will always be in each other’s lives.” According to the article, the last time they saw each other was when Neeson and his son Daniel saw Anderson in a play on August 3.
September 5, 2025: Anderson vehemently denies participating in “PR stunts” during the 51st Deauville American Film Festival in France. “I do not and will never feed into PR stunts,” she says while accepting the Deauville Talent Award, per People. “That would be a death sentence. I’m authentically driven. I’m superstitious when it comes to love. And I’m not comfortable sharing any shred of my romantic life.”
Anderson continues, “I know I’ll fall in love again and again on screen. That is my job. If we do it well, you will feel it, a kind of projection. It is the greatest compliment. So please think positive. And I appreciate your good wishes. There are no silly games being played. I’m sincere.”
The actor warned listeners to “not mistake my kindness for weakness or my boldness for bitterness,” adding, “I’m here on this journey, not for money or for fame, but to see what I’m made of in truth, hard work, and to leave behind an honest legacy my family can be proud of.”
August 29, 2025: TMZ reports that the “Pam + Liam” romance is all a publicity stunt manufactured by their PR teams and Paramount in order to promote The Naked Gun. The publication’s sources claim the pair have not had one-on-one dinners without their teams and didn’t even see each other between filming the movie and their press tour a year later.
However, sources tell People the exact opposite. “Everything between them has been genuine. Neither would ever take part in a publicity stunt,” a source “close to the film” tells People. “They have a great time. Neither of them needs the publicity.”
Another source added, “Their relationship isn’t just for show. They have a real connection. There’s no incentive for either of them to stage something like this.”
As for accusations that the pair never had one-on-one dinner dates? One source calls the claim “ridiculous.”
At this point, neither Anderson nor Neeson has officially confirmed their relationship.

August 3, 2025: The pair make an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, where Andy Cohen asks them to share their favorite thing about each other. “Oh boy. Just that he’s so kind and generous,” Anderson replied, while Neeson complimented her “spirit.”
“And she’s a giggler like me,” he added. “And I love that.”
July 29, 2025: People reports that Anderson and Neeson are dating for real.
“It’s a budding romance in the early stages,” a source told the outlet. “It’s sincere, and it’s clear they’re smitten with each other.”
The confirmation comes just hours after the pair pretended to get caught making out before an appearance on The Today Show. The bit was mostly chalked up to a PR stunt, in line with the hokey tone of The Naked Gun. But in hindsight, as news of their real relationship emerged, the whole thing reads a little bit steamy.…

During the same appearance, the pair was asked point-blank if they’re dating. Anderson deadpanned, “I don’t understand the question.”
Neeson added, “I had never met Pamela before. We met on set, and we discovered we had a lovely, budding chemistry—as two actors. And it was like, ‘Oh, this is nice. Let’s not mold this, let’s just let it breathe.’ And that’s what we did.”

“‘Oh, darling. I’ve taken a tumble in the snow.’ That’s how she described it,” he said, remembering a phone call after the accident. At the time Neeson was in Toronto filming; he immediately boarded a flight when it became clear that her condition was serious.
He also reminisced about their first meeting on stage while performing Anna Christie on Broadway in 1993. “She was a radiant beauty,” he recalled. “Yeah, cascading hair. I remember. There was—that was very, very attractive.”
“I’d never had that kind of an explosive chemistry situation with an actor or actress,” he said.
