Temperatures are soaring and the beach is calling—so of course summer’s biggest sandal trends are just about all we can think about. In keeping with the season’s larger fashion trends, the vibes are bohemian and coastal, although there’s still room for some nostalgic fun. (We missed you, jelly shoes!) If you’re ready to make all your warm-weather outfits pop, our style editors found the summer 2025 sandal trends that you’ll soon be obsessed with, from luxe flip-flops to vacation-ready rope sandals.

Glamour’s summer sandal trends wish list

1. Rope sandals

Spurred on by cool-girl brand Miu Miu, a coastal take on preppy style has reigned supreme among this season’s shoe trends. And perhaps the best way in is with rope shoes, which mash up a cornerstone of maritime fashion with the walking sandals you once wore at summer camp. The first pair below is basically a dead ringer for Miu Miu’s popular (and hard-to-find) sandals, while the rest of these options put their own spin on the look. Style them with tailored Bermuda shorts or white jeans to go full nautical prep.

2. Summer suede

Thanks to boho’s big comeback, suede never stopped trending at the end of last year—in fact, the autumnal material is only getting stronger for summer. Think of these suede beauties (and their close cousins, country sandals) as the easiest way to ground the earth-tone outfits on everyone’s mood boards for the season ahead. Miu Miu and Isabel Marant showed similar styles for summer 2025, although you can get the look for as little as $70. Pair these picks with worn-in jeans, romantic white skirts, and baggy denim shorts. Easy!

3. Jelly shoes

Last summer, The Row sent the fashion world into a tizzy with its $890 jelly mesh flats; everyone had to have a pair, or at least a dupe. This year, with other high-end brands like Chloé joining in on the fun for spring, the nostalgic footwear has finally gone mainstream outside of the beach. Go with mules for the office, fisherman sandals for vacation, or flip-flops for leisurely strolls around town. Trust us: These cute, chic picks would look so good with a swimsuit or a sequined dress alike.

4. Caged sandals

While we’ll always love a great pair of fisherman sandals, you might want to invest in a daintier style in 2025. Caged styles just walked the runways at the likes of Christopher Esber and Ralph Lauren, and we love the look of a barely-there sole and several thin straps around the toes, especially with jeans and flowy dresses. Below, you’ll find options for every dress code and color scheme.

5. Thick flip-flops

Thong sandals never really go away, but they’re poised to have a big year after popping up everywhere from Alaïa to Bottega Veneta this season. The vibe is thick and luxe; think smooth leather, platform soles, and higher-quality construction that won’t fall apart after a few wears. Sure, it might actually ruin your day if you forget these pairs at the beach—but that preciousness is kind of the whole point, right? Pro tip: Let these pairs poke out of straight-leg silk or linen pants for an easy vacation outfit with major style.

6. Ankle-wrap sandals

Whether you’re in for a minimalist Euro summer or you’re leaning into boho maximalism, we can all agree on this new generation of ankle-wrap sandals. Sculptural straps hug the foot and taper as they climb the leg, making a subtle statement with virtually zero effort. Pair your pick with an airy midi-dress for a dinner date, a one-piece swimsuit and a sarong on the boardwalk, or a blouse and a denim skirt at the office.

7. Metal accents

Metal details, ring sandals, and anklet accents are enjoying a major moment this summer—time to invest before everyone else in your life does first. Combining footwear with jewelry, they effortlessly dress up swimwear, tailored trousers, and event dresses, meaning they’re some of the most versatile shoes you can own. Don’t leave for your next getaway without a pair; they’ll keep you on trend while you’re exploring a new city or sitting down for a fancy dinner.
