Sydney Sweeney has been less than perfectly articulate on certain topics, to be sure, but on the subject of her own plastic surgery history, we’ve got to say, she hit the nail on the head: a clear and present “nope.”
During a chat with Allure, Sweeney and her The Housemaid costar Amanda Seyfried had the opportunity to “debunk” a “beauty rumor,” and Sweeney took the opportunity to set the record straight. “I have never gotten work done,” she said, explaining, “I am so scared of needles.”
She then turned her attention to the apparent source of the rumors: online sleuths who compare “before” and “after” photos of her and speculate about what procedures she might have undergone. “You guys, you cannot compare a photo of me from when I was 12 to a photo of me at 26 with professional makeup and lighting,” she said, adding, “Of course I’m gonna look different!”
But perhaps the best part was when she cracked, “Everybody on social media is insane.” I mean…is she wrong?
She went on to say that if she had used some kind of enhancement, her “face would be even,” pointing out that one of her eyelids (supposedly) opens more than the other since she got stitches following a wakeboarding accident. Not sure how much water the “Sydney Sweeney could be more perfect-looking” argument is going to hold, but when she says to believe her and not randos on the internet, that is a line of thinking we can get behind.
Throughout the conversation, Seyfried was supportive in saying both that Sweeney didn’t need to touch her face and that if she ever chose to, Seyfried would give her an Ativan to help with her needle phobia. Girls’ girl.
