MTV announced Monday during the 2018 MTV VMAs that *The Hills—the iconic reality show that cemented the careers of Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari, and brought the world Speidi—will be getting a reboot featuring several members of the original cast. MTV dropped a 30-second teaser of The Hills: New Beginnings featuring a stripped-down remix of the show's original theme song "Unwritten" and a montage of glossy Los Angeles shots that defined the original series. It also, of course, featured a voiceover: “It’s like we’re all growing up. It’s weird,” Stephanie Pratt says in the clip, offering no information on what we'll actually see in the new episodes.
But US Weekly reports that the new series "will reunite original cast members, along with their children as friends, as well as follow their personal and professional lives."
To announce the return of the show, several original cast members walked the red carpet outside New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on Monday night. “Make sure to tune in—we’ve got a big Hills announcement during the show,” Spencer Pratt said. Joining him on the preshow stage were wife Heidi Montag and their 10-month-old son, Gunner Stone, as well as fellow cast members Audrina Patridge, Justin Bobby Brescia, Jason Wahler, and Stephanie Pratt. (Conrad and Cavallari, the show's original defacto leads and narrators, were not in attendance, fueling rumors that they won't be appearing in the new series.)

Pratt, Montag, and Gunner were unsurprisingly the first to arrive at the VMAs. Pratt and his son wore coordinating red and navy blue Gucci blazers over white button-down shirts—and, of course, crystals around their necks. Montag, meanwhile, wore a silver minidress and matching heels. The trio took some time before heading into the venue to document Gunner’s first red carpet and take a few selfies.
Shortly afterward, Patridge walked the red carpet solo, wearing a one-shouldered minidress covered in shiny black-and-silver designs and metallic fringe. She completed the look with silver pumps, and styled her beach waves in a high ponytail.
