I Took Grüns Gummies for a Week—Here’s What It Did for My Gut and Energy

If you’re active on social media and follow a fair share of influencers, you’ve likely been served plenty of Grüns gummies reviews. The bear-shaped greens gummies have taken our feeds by storm with people saying, “They look and taste like gummy bears,” and “They’re better than greens powders,” as well as “They have fruits, vegetables, probiotics, and antioxidants to solve problems like brain fog and boost digestion.” As the wellness girly that I am, I was curious—could these seemingly candy-tasting gummies really be that good for me? I got my hands on their original and new raspberry-lemonade flavors to put them to the test. I can see why people love them, and had a few takeaways of my own in terms of digestion and energy. Below, read on for my full Grüns review, along with some thoughts from a registered dietitian.

How I tested

I took one package of the Grüns Superfoods Greens Gummies every day for a week. For the most part, I took the original, low-sugar version, but for the sake of research, I did try the sugar-free ones, along with the Raspberry Lemonade flavor. The gummies are separated into individual packs, which have eight gummies inside—the recommended daily dose—so that’s what I took.

I prefer the raspberry-lemonade gummies over the greens. The lemonade flavor gives them a somewhat sour taste, which I really enjoyed, and I think they taste more candy-like too. But the tart taste also made the eight gummy doses feel perfect, as I don’t think I could eat that many more of them.

In terms of how I felt, the biggest difference I noticed was in my digestion. I’m not always the most regular with bowel movements (TMI, sorry!), but from when I started taking these, I could tell the probiotics and six grams of fiber were doing their job. In the same vein, I’ve been feeling less bloated after taking Grüns. I also noticed a difference in energy. One afternoon, I was really low in energy, but after taking a packet of Grüns, I felt like I could keep working without falling asleep on my laptop. And on the topic of sleep, I sleep better when I take them too. But all of this makes sense, according to the ingredients. “The greens blend and prebiotic fibers (like chicory root or tapioca fiber) may help nourish beneficial gut bacteria and promote short-chain fatty acid production, especially butyrate, which plays a role in gut barrier integrity and immune regulation,” explains Fazio, who also points out the use of “bioavailable micronutrients,” including retinyl palmitate (vitamin A), methylated folate and B12, and vitamin K2, “which are preferred in clinical practice for better absorption and utilization.” These ingredients in particular lend themselves to functions such as energy, mood, cognition, and skin cell turnover.

Is it worth the price?

If you’re someone who maybe doesn’t have the most thoughtful diet and could benefit from some extra greens, fiber, and other vitamins, then yes, Grüns may be worth the price, albeit maybe a little bit of a splurge at $70 for a 28-day pack. But if you’re already getting your greens and nutrition from whole foods (which is what we always recommend), there’s no real reason to swap or add these in.

Grüns is positioning themselves as an upgrade to your daily multivitamin (Grüns contains over 20 vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, B2, B6, B12, C, D3, E, and K2, plus biotin, folate, niacin, pantothenic acid, thiamine, chromium, copper, iodine, manganese, molybdenum, selenium, and zinc). So, depending on what your health provider recommends, these little packs of eight daily gummies may be able to replace some of the other supplements you’re already paying for.

While Grüns are great for single individuals, a couple can also benefit from the subscribe option with the two-person package. The brand also offers a children’s version that’s dosed appropriately for kids ages 2 to 13. In terms of dietary needs, it’s wise to consult with a doctor, but the brand certainly does its best to disclose everything that a customer would need to know. For instance, the site reads, “Grüns are gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, vegan, non-GMO, and contain no synthetic sweeteners, no synthetic dyes, or gelatin, and most of our ingredients are organic.”

My final thoughts

I’m definitely going to continue taking Grüns daily. While they may not be “real” gummy bears, I’ve seen improvements in digestion, energy, and sleep after just one week. As someone who’s always striving to live a healthier life, I think they make a great addition to my routine. If you know you’re not getting all of the vitamins and nutrients you need from your diet, adding Grüns in is a no-brainer. “Grüns is a fun and approachable option that may help fill small nutrient gaps for someone already eating a whole-food, balanced diet,” says Fazio, who notes that it shouldn’t be a replacement for a multivitamin or therapeutic supplementation for individuals with “specific nutrient deficiencies, chronic stress, hormonal concerns, or digestive sensitivities.” She adds, “Like many wellness gummies, it is best viewed as a supportive add-on, not a clinical tool.”
